Development of cashless payments by Ukrainian entrepreneurs: Benefits and trends

Ukrainian entrepreneurs are increasingly using banking services to accept cashless payments via their smartphones. Over the past year, the number of active users of PrivatBank’s Terminal app has increased fivefold.
The app has become an effective solution for Ukrainian businesses, allowing them to set up cashless payments in minutes. Among the most active users of the application are market traders, shops and stores, beauty salons, and catering establishments.
In 2023, Ukrainians made 7.8 million purchases through Terminal, with a total value of over UAH 3.2 billion. The most popular among entrepreneurs were grocery stores, which made almost 600 thousand payments, and catering establishments, with 420 thousand payments.
According to Privatbank, the highest average check was recorded in beauty salons and electronics stores, reaching UAH 1,550 and UAH 1,520, respectively.
Every fourth user of the Terminal, which amounts to more than 12 thousand entrepreneurs, also uses the software registrar of payment transactions PRRO Kasa. This service, which operates directly in the application, is already included in the acquiring tariff from Privatbank.
The development of non-cash payments contributes to the effective management of companies’ finances and increases their competitiveness in the market.
